When having a baby boy right after a girl, is it normal to have to buy many things over again?
I have a 10 month old daughter, and I am currently 6 months pregnant with what I think is probably a boy. I bought many things in pink when I had my daughter (since I had a 10 year IUD and wasn't expecting anymore kids for a while), so I bought the stroller, car seat, all of her clothes, socks, blankets, play mat, toys, and bath tub in pink. I also need to buy another bouncer since my daughter's broke. I just happened to might have the least cost efficiant combination. Has this happened to anyone else?
It hasn't happened to me quite like it has with you, I have a 2 1/2 year old daughter & now a boy on the way. I am pretty neutral person but there were some things that were gender specific. Honestly I don't think you need to buy all the stuff again, especially the stuff that just stays in your house like the play mat, bath tub. It's a hard one with the Stroller and what not because people will guess you have a girl because of the pink without looking at your bubs. Car seat doesn't really matter, socks... Hmm well if they are covered it doesn't matter. Clothes you'd obviously want to buy either neutral or gender specific, I don't know if you would want a boy in pink, not that it bothers me (the only thing would be people saying 'Oh your girl is cute; when it's a boy because a lot of the time people don't know & guess by clothes.
When you get the bouncer just get a neutral one (if you like neutrals)
haha but I know how you feel about the cost efficiancy. I was given a lot of boys things hand me down because we weren't sure what we were having & so we used a lot of the stuff ie: bath tub, blue potty, boyish playmats but as I said because they were in the house I didn't really care. I wasn't going to buy those things again. The pusher was pretty ugly and boyish but I still used it because I didn't need it that often so I didn't want to buy one that wasn't going to get used much just because I had a girl.
Anyway... It's all up to you, but personally to be cost effective the things in the house, including the car seat I wouldn't bother about, it's only your friends and family that will see that & they should understand what a waste it would be to not use it again and to have two of everything 
Out of the house stuff like a stroller, perhaps you could get a neutral one, You might still need it for your daughter anyway, so two might be handy, or a double one. Having said that, you may need another car seat anyway because your daughter will still be using it?
Clothes yep obviously you'll need to do a shop for that too.
