quality seat....if you want a travel system with a good carseat, the graco quattro tour deluxe is great, it comes with the safeseat (holds up to thirty lbs and is a little larger than most infant carriers), one base and a nice stroller that has all the cupholders compartments and such you would want....i would get a bassinet or something baby can sleep in in your room for a while, and then a crib when they get a little older in their own room...if you don't want an infant carrier/travel system, britax makes very safe seats...they have convertibles that will hold a baby from five lbs, although it seems they would be swimming in it; if i am not mistaken they also make infant carriers, but i think they are harder to find....i would buy the changing table that matches the furniture and crib you pick out for your nursery.....you can also get a nice play yard with a bassinet feature and then remove it later and you have your play yard...we are very happy with our chicco discovery; it's very stable, has a thicker washable mattress with wooden slat under the mattress for support....also has flip up change table and such if you want to use that ....we bought a britax boulevard after a lot of research for her convertible seat...it was between it and the marathon, but the boulevard has added side impact protection so that's what decided it for us.....gl, hth
